Ways of Giving

General Bursary Fund

Donations to the Niagara Youth Orchestra go directly toward a general bursary fund to assist talented musicians who would otherwise not be able to participate.

As a registered charitable organization (119057644RR0001) we are able to issue tax receipts for any donation over $25.

We also have a number of endowed awards and bursaries. If you are interested in designating your donation toward a specific fund (descriptions HERE), please contact the General Manager directly at music@niagarayouthorchestra.org.

To make a donation, please make cheques payable to "Niagara Youth Orchestra," send us an etransfer at music@niagarayouthorchestra.org or give online by clicking on the button

60th Anniversary Tour & Legacy Fund

The Niagara Youth Orchestra (NYO) is excited to announce its transformative 60th anniversary trip to Austria, where we will proudly represent Canada at the prestigious Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival, coinciding with Johann Strauss’ 200th birthday.

As the premier organization of its kind in Niagara—and a leader in Ontario—NYO delivers exceptional coaching in percussion, wind, brass, and string instruments. Our students engage in intensive weekly sessions and consistently showcase their talents through three public performances each year.

This milestone trip offers our young musicians an unparalleled opportunity to enhance their skills through professional workshops and perform in iconic venues like the Golden Hall of the Musikverein. However, to ensure that every dedicated musician can participate, we need your support. We invite you to join us in celebrating our 60th year by contributing to our "NYO 60th Anniversary Tour & Legacy" campaign, which encourages donations of at least $60 in honour of our anniversary—though any amount is greatly appreciated.

There are also exciting sponsorship and donor opportunities available to support our season and members. Please reach out to Jenn McKillop at music@niagarayouthorchestra.org, or visit our website or Canada Helps page to make a meaningful contribution.

"We are proud and ready to represent Canada at this prestigious festival," asserted Kim Hertwig, President at NYO. "This experience will not only elevate our musicians’ education but also create lasting memories that resonate for a lifetime."
